FAQ
- How much water does my lawn need when I use my sprinkler?
-
Wise watering practices help build a stronger, healthier lawn, no doubt. When rain is not abundant and you need to bring out your faithful sprinkler, make sure you water either in the early morning or early evening and avoid all middle of the day watering when the sun is at its hottest. The best watering practices moisten the soil 4-6 inches deep, which is the extent of the root zone. For clay-heavy soil, this is about 1" of water and for more sandy-based soil, 1/2" will do.
- How do I know if my lawn needs water?
-
It sounds simple, but the footprint test is about as reliable as you can get. When you walk across your grass, if you leave footprints, that means the lawn is not springing back easily and could use a good drink of water. Do not water again until your feet make footprints again. The footprints indicate stress.
- Why should I have my lawn aerated?
-
Unless you have very sandy, well-draining soil in your yard, yearly aeration is a necessary tool to help keep your lawn healthy and thriving. When aeration occurs, it creates holes down into the soil, thus alleviating compaction so that air, water and nutrients can reach the roots of the grass. If the soil in your area is, indeed, sandy - you can probably get by with treating every 2-3 years.
- Are all of your lawn treatments pet safe?
-
Differing products come with different guidelines but we do not use any sort of pest poisons in our landscaping. When we come out to do your quote, we can have a conversation about the pets and/or farm animals you have and plan accordingly so that we make sure you are equipped with the proper information to keep them safe during your lawn and landscaping treatments.
- Why are your prices not listed on your website?
-
The reason we do not list our prices here on the website is because every single job we do is customized to the individual property and its needs. This is why we come and give you a quote for free. Once we identify everything your lawn needs, we can easily put together a quote for services and once your services are completed, you can pay your invoice through our easy, online payment portal.
- Will you take jobs outside of the counties you've listed?
-
If you live within a county surrounding our areas of service and want to reach out to get a quote, we can certainly have that conversation. It is possible that we can serve you with no problems at all; however, we have to take distance into consideration and do so on a case-by-case basis.
